I'm A Wandering Monster - Lance Icarus
We heard that there was a webcomic contest out on Munchkin that had a substantial bounty on it, so we aimed our sights and took our shot. I hate to admit this, but I have never played Munchkin before I heard of this contest. Being a huge fan of GURPS, another Steve Jackson game, and having a few friends who have sworn their love for Munchkin many times over, I decided it was time to give the game a try. You know, for research.
I played with Dizzy and his girlfriend for the first go and it was amazingly fun. Man I feel like I'm the last horse across the finish line. I should have been playing this game a looooong time ago. I didn't realize how deep this game actually was until I was trying to think three turns ahead with my Wandering Monster card, looking for the best opportunity to completely annihilate my closest friends. More than a couple times Dizzy's girlfriend was ready to choke me to death due to my amazing ability to screw her over at the most inopportune times. In a way, she indirectly created this comic.
Just so this doesn't sound like a Munchkin ad, I wish the rules were a little easier to read, though I do wonder if that wasn't by design. It's also kind of lame that the Munchkin Level Counter app for iPhone is $5 bucks. Angry Birds is only 99 cents for crying out loud! Other than those nitpicks, I highly recommend it to all people who love D&D and have had to deal with the one guy who tries to take every advantage, no matter the cost.
